Comme la plupart d’entre vous le savez déjà, je suis membre de l’IAPSP depuis plus de 20 ans maintenant. J’y ai trouvé une communauté stimulante qui m’a soutenue dans mon développement comme clinicienne, en plus de m’offrir des amitiés durables et un réseau de référence. Je vous encourage à prendre connaissance des nombreux bénéfices qu’une telle affiliation pourraient vous apporter (voir ci-dessous), dont un abonnement au périodique Psychoanalysis, Self and Context dont je suis présentement la co-rédactrice. Veuillez prendre note que l’organisation a récemment réduit les tarifs d’adhésion pour les étudiants aux études supérieurs à seulement 50$US par année et offre également une catégorie de tarif réduit à ceux pour qui le tarif régulier est prohibitif. Les membres du GEI ont droit à une réduction de 10% sur le tarif régulier; le code pour y avoir accès vous a été transmis lorsque vous avez renouvelé votre adhésion 2020. Membership in IAPSP means being involved in an organization whose central purpose is to foster psychoanalytic self psychology as a living science and a developing profession. It means joining with a vital professional community of clinicians, scholars, and theoreticians who are at the forefront of the work first started by Heinz Kohut.

  • A subscription to the journal Psychoanalysis, Self and Context - four issues per year, including both paper copies and online access
  • The opportunity to discuss journal papers on the member listserv and participate in other online discussions, colloquia and webinars
  • Discounted fees for the annual conference, to be held this year in Washington DC October 15-18th, 2020 on the theme "Freedom and Transformation: Opportunities and Challenges."
  • Access to members-only recordings of interviews with and live supervisions by esteemed current and former leaders of our organization.

FOR THE COMMUNITY


Membership benefits include:

  • Participation in the membership-wide listserv for announcements, referrals and discussions, and interactive access to IAPSP's EForum site
  • Listing in IAPSP's searchable roster, including the ability to link to members' own websites  
  • Opportunities to develop relationships and connections with other members, at annual conferences and through online dialogues throughout the year
  • The ability to join any or all of IAPSP's four special Interest subgroups (on Couples Therapy, Child & Adolescent Treatment, Ethics & Social Justice, and Teaching), each of which has its own dedicated listserv to allow member conversation. There is also a subgroup for Students, Candidates and Early Career Professionals, and members with other interests are welcome to organize similar subgroups as well
  • The ability to vote to elect representatives to IAPSP's International Council and to run for election to the council.
